In 2025 'Farewell to a Friend' won Best in Show at the 97th AAPL Grand National Exhibition in New York City (Nov 18 - Dec 05). Here is what the Juror of Awards, Frederick Brosen had to say about the painting.
"For the Gold Award I selected the monumental painting by Eric Chauvin, Farewell to a Friend. Beautifully wrought in every detail, this large work reminded me of the great Orientalist paintings of the 19th c., a period I particularly respond to. This work, so exquisitely painted, could hold its own alongside those masterful paintings of the past. A tour de force! Congratulations Eric!"
'Blood and Dust' was on display at the Salmagundi Club in New York City from Oct 28 - Nov 15, 2024 as part of the AAPL's 96th Grand National Exhibition. It won the Bronze Medal of Honor.
'Plaudits for Porphyrius' was on display at Sotheby's New York from July 14 - July 24, 2023. It was part of the 16th International ARC Salon exhibition. It won the award for "Most Ambitious Work".
